Entah kenapa saya suka banget dengan logo Gnome mungkin karena tiap hari desktop tsb selalu menemani saya bekerja dan rasa  hormat saya kepada orang2 di belakang Gnome yang tanpa pamrih membuat Gnome semakin user-friendly untuk itu saya abadikan logo Gnome tersebut di lantai carport ku hehe.

Untuk membuat coral sikat yang rapih saya harus buat pola pake kertas duplek yang ukuran besar sebanyak 3 lembar dan nge-print polanya pun pake plotter karena saking besarnya. Setelah di print di atas kertas duplek baru saya potong potong dan di tempelin ke gabus/styrofoam supaya lebih tebal. Selanjutnya tukang batulah yang bekerja

Terbesit di pikiran sepertinya keinginan saya untuk mengulang masa lalu akan tetap berbeda dan tidak akan bisa menggantikannya walaupun kita mengulangi dengan situasi/kondisi yang 100% sama, tetap tidak akan pernah sampai 100% karena ada dimensi waktu yang berbeda.

Sekedar menjadikan sarana mesin waktu dan untuk mendokumentasikan hobi jalan2 (padahal jarang banget) serta sekaligus mengakomodir hobi amatiran saya untuk foto-foto, terbesit untuk membuat suatu website untuk men-share foto-foto saya, keiinginan ini sudah lama sekali terpendam sekitar tahun 2000/2001-an tetapi saya belum punya waktu untuk merealisasikannya. Alhamdullilah akhirnya, selama kurang lebih 9 bulan saya iseng-iseng coding di sela-sela waktu pulang kerja akhirnya selesai juga membuat website http://pictures.maleber.net/ walaupun belum rampung 100%, tapi setidaknya sudah bisa di publish.

hmmm gila lama juga yah .. hehe maklum itu juga tergantung mod-nya juga, kalo lagi OK ya lanjut kalo lagi males ya di biarin hehe. Juga dalam seminggu hanya ada waktu 4 hari, dan waktunya juga sekitar 1-2 jam untuk ngerjakannya. Malah ada satu bulan full idle ngak update2 coding nya hehe… . Cuman kalo di biarin terlalu lama, waiting list foto2 yang akan saya publish akan lebih menumpuk lagi he he.

Foto-foto yang saya upload pertama kali adalah foto2 lawas hasil scan(sebenarnya di foto ulang). Dengan semangat 45 saya mengumpulkan kembali berkas-berkas foto lama saya di lemari yang penuh dengan debu.Setelah melihat begitu banyak saya jadi ciut ketika mau men-scan satu persatu foto tsb, karena saya hanya punya waktu hari sabtu saja untuk mengumpulkan foto2 lama tsb (hehe hanya mengumpulkan bukan mendigitalisasikan gambar lawas tsb). Gileee banyak banget foto yang harus saya scan. Akhirnya saya sortir kembali foto-foto yang akan di publish dan ketika selesai di pilah-pilah ..hmmmm gila masih banyak juga yah hehe … akhirnya diputuskan untuk mem-foto kembali foto2 tersebut tanpa scan, dan ternyata lumayan menghemat waktu ..walaupun dalam sekali foto hanya dapat 2 gambar tetapi speed nya bener-bener cepet, bayangkan berapa lama waktu yang dibutuhkan kalau saya tetep pake scanner. Dengan di temani Picassa dan the GIMP yang oke banget, lalu saya edit foto2 tersebut.

Mudah-mudahan foto-foto lawas tersebut akan mengingatkan saya akan sesuatu yang pernah saya jalani. Saya hanya bisa mengingat dan membayangkan saja walaupun saya kembali ke tempat tersebut, akan tetap berbeda. Seperti halnya ketika saya kembali ke Sedep daerah perkebunan teh di kaki gunung papandayan, saya hanya bisa menatap masjid dan warung tempat kami beristirahat 12 tahun yang lalu. Menatap ke gunung papandayan yang lumayan jauh menurut ukuran mata saya sekarang hmmmm… ngak habis pikir padahal perjalanan turun dari Kawah Papandayan ke desa tsb lumayan jauh dan hal itu pernah saya lakukan 12 tahun lalu.

Honestly, it would be unfair not to let you have a choice, it’s really .. really unfair indeed.
Angry hmm angry with who ?? seller?? the situation ?? or YLKI (Indonesian Consumen Institution)??

It would be fair enough if you have a choice. Yes it would be nice if the seller make an alternative of choice for us.
And this is an example of the alternatives :

1. Cup
2. Cup + beverages (For normal or promotion price of beverages)
3. Cup + free beverages (if you don’t like a beverages you can take ‘only a cup’ and throw the beverages. Of course the price is just a cup not price of ‘Cup + beverages’)

Yes, it would be very fair enough with that alternatives, fair for the seller, fair for the buyer.
First, if you like the beverages, it would be nice and happy to buy Cup + the beverages with the promotion price of beverages or it would be more happy if you get a free beverages.
Second, if you don’t like the beverages, it would be nice if you buy ‘only a cup’ or if there’s only third option available, it’s still OK, you can throw the beverages because no cost of it.

I don’t know i thinks it’s fair enough for the seller and buyer. There’s no enforcement of it.

This situation is happen to me when i bought a new notebook (not for the first time but it’s for the second time happen to me).
There’s only second options available, there’s no first and third options (at least till i’m writing this blog).
Yes …i have to bought a notebook including the  operating system,
operating system that i don’t need,  operating system that i don’t want to use,
and the worst is you have to pay for the  operating system
and the cost of operating system is not cheap.

All i need is the hardware, hardware specification which fit with my necessary.
And please … please .. please let us choose the right operating system by ourselves.
Still the seller can make an advice or suggestion to used specific operating system.
Yes … just advice or suggestion not enforcement to used specific operating system or worst to buy it.

I’ve deleted the  operating system because it’s not fit to my necessary.
It’s a very … very wasteful indeed.
It seem i threw the money to the garbage, the money which actually i can used for other necessity.
I sincerely happy (or better) if i give the cost of  operating system to the people who need it, hope it can changed of life to the people who used it.

Two wasteful  licence which i have to bought, if i used the money for the right thing maybe and hope can changed life to the people who used it.

After re-partision hardisk and re-format (and remove the Windows).
Then .. i install Ubuntu 6.10 edgy (last time i used is Ubuntu 6.06).

After OS installed on the notebook, i checked the WIFI and fortunately it work without any extra driver.
Edge has detected for almost all driver (VGA card,Sound Card,Card Reader,Wifi,Bluetooth) except for modem.

For connection to the network i have to set the wifi config, i need wifi-radar for facilitate iwconfig command.

I love this method of instalation .. just run cnxinstall.run and it will doing all you need.

Goto menu System > Administration > Software Updates

update the application that i use.

hmmm when booting it took a long time … it’s too slow it slower then Deeper .

so i’m edit /boot/grub/menu.lst

change this line :
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-10-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet splash
became
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-10-generic root=/dev/sda1 ro splash vga=792

vga=792 is for wide terminal and i need progress bar and note about what happened when booting, so i delete the ‘quite’ mode.
hmm i found the problem, the problem arise when load S40Networking,

I’m edit file in /etc/rcS.d/S40Networking and replace all command ‘ifup -a’ with ‘ifup eth0′ , it’s took long boot time if you still use ‘ifup -a’.
i was remembered when my friend said Edgy is so slow when it load the networking so i made changed the ifup command

it’s make me blind on the terminal without MC.

copy my old .basrc to new laptop to get color terminal.
I have no idea in edgy there’s no .basrc file like dapper so my terminal is plain black.

And i copy all my data/application from old laptop such us :JDK (Java),Apache+PHP,Postgresql,MySql,iReport,PGAdmin,NetBean,My old www document,Picasa,GoogleEarth,GtkPod etc.

Changed the Gnome Splash Screen with the picture of bali dancer (i took the picture when i was traveling in Bali)

just for fun .. not more then 5 minute beryl was installed on my laptop, there’s contradiction when i was installed on my old laptop .. it’s so hard .. so long to find how it work.

I had been looking this laptop for a month when i was in Bandung , originally i will buy it for use in my home because my sister need it after my Duren ups AMD Duron has been broked for a half a year but i have no budget left anymore after i bought my new Honda CBR150 for replacement my Kawasaki Ninja (ohh sorry my poor Ninja).

Yes in my home still no PC .. but it’s Ok my sister can still use the PC in rental / her friends and i don’t used it when i’m stay at home (Bandung).

Honestly I choosed it cause the body/physical is so solid,glossy wrapped on the black.
