It took almost 12 year

April 13th, 2007

6-8 April 2007 is a perfect holiday, we have planned this trip from 2 or 3 week ago, and Sedep is the destination, Sedep is a tiny part of a huge tea plantation area (Pangalengan-Malabar) from South Bandung to Mount Papandayan Garut (West Java), it’s a mountain range and a high altitude places (about 1500 m-1600 m). Everytime you move your head there’s a tea everywhere, it’s like green giant carpet which wrap up the mountain.
It’s took almost 12 year for me to go back there .. Last time I was there is in 1995 when I still in college with a skinny body and disorder long-haired style. It was unforgettable moment and I really …really comport with that style, I feel free to do anything without worry about my manners. It was right moment to find the real best friends, friends which really care without concern about who you are, where you are from, rich or poor, it’s all about honest friendship without any business interest.

The litle village (Sedep) is surrounding by a huge tea plantation, 12 years ago me and 9 of my best friends very happy indeed when saw that village. It was the first village that we have seen after a long journey a cross the jungle from the crater on the top of Mount Papandayan Garut. With empty stomach and big heavy bag on my shoulder we walking in a hurry to get there to find a tiny booth for food.

But now the journey start from Pangalengan South Bandung, with better supplies of food and equipment. He he he of course it’s better it’s not for hard trekking cross the mountain. It’s a enjoyable travelling to enjoy the tea plantation environment inside a car. Me and 4 friends exile from the noise of the Jakarta, exile for awhile from a lot of jobs that actually should be done when we back.

Me and Garry waiting in Bandung, waiting for Addy,Ulfa and Bruce from Jakarta. After they arrived to Cihampelas at 11.15 a’clock, we straightway going to McDonalds Cihampelas for a lunch. After lunch we have to pray (jum’atan) at cipaganti mosque. Before we depart, Bruce bought the jacket at Purnawarwan street cause he forgot to brought it.

We stay at Garry’s brother house, it’s so strange to see a chimney in the corner of living room, it’s unusual to see house with a chimney in a tropical country such as Indonesia, but at Sedep there’s almost have chimney in every building because the temperature so cold especially at the night.

So we used it for make a beef & corn roasted, actually is overcooked of beef & corn, hehe we eat the chip of a cinder.

2 Days 2 night undisturbed by noise of the big city, noise of the vehicles and the crowded people, even there’s no cell phone signal, it’s so peaceful, my brain so clear, it’s look like you have been replaced the battery of your brain. Even i thinking ‘can we move our office here ??’ .. he he .. but as long as i can connect to the net and foodful i’m willing to work at this reclusive place.
